Government Agency Expo An exposition is hosted early each year, generally in February. The expo gathers dozens of governmental agencies in one place providing a forum for one-on-one meetings with purchasing agents. Organziations that provide various types of business assistance, such as business planning, banking and insurance, also participate to provide information regarding their services. | Hall of Fame Each year at least two individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the quest of improving the economic climate for historically underutilized business enterprises is acknowledged and recognized at the Government Agency Expo. The individual receives a plaque as a keepsake. A separate plaque with a commemorative inscription cataloging all of the honorees is displayed for posterity. | Diversity Business Resource Center After hard work and collaboration by many groups, including the MWDBE Governmental Committee, the Diversity Business Resource Center (DBRC) is now a reality. Located at the Riverside Center for Innovation, the Center's mission is to assist and foster small exisiting and start-up minority and women-owned businesses in Southwestern Pennsylvania in acquiring key information necessary, such as referrals and resources to build a sustainable firm. The Center will also serve as an advocate for M/W/DBE issues, participate in long-term M/W/DBE strategic planning and work with elected officials to improve policies that will benefit M/W/DBE businesses.
